Sunday is looking good for Vulcan fans.
The Red Arrows flew over our house as they took off going to Dawlish early this evening. All the cars stopped on the street to watch and lots of people rushed into their gardens.
Amazing sight seeing the Arrows fly over at 1,000 ft. Annoying that I didn't grab the camera in time. Grrrr!

Not just Vulcan fans, but vintage jet fans in general, as it's been confimed there will be a special Jet Heritage formation taking place on the Sunday, with the Vulcan flying in formation with a Vampire, Meteor, Hunter and the Sea Vixen Sunday is looking good for Vulcan fans.
Just really a Gnat missing from that list.
Also a shame the recently returned to flight Canberra PR.9 couldn't have been included as well.

Lanc & Co flew straight over our house (East Northants) at lunchtime today at a very low altitude! They must have been in a rush to get from Coningsby to Bournemouth, since the noise was incredible and they passed over very quickly.
I was in such a panic to open the window and get a good look out, that I pulled the whole curtain rail assembly down on my head! D'Oh.

You will be lucky!Bournemouth is busy in summer weekends at the best of times and they have restricted parking in the centre of town during the air show.
We normally head down a couple of hours before the first display and walk into town and pitch up a small tent on the beach halfway between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers.
Take a picnic as well as the queues for the food stalls become huge.
Lancaster flew right over our workshop at 2pm we all came out to marvel at the wonderful sound, then our apprentice wandered out of the workshop dragging his knuckles and idly asked "is that one of those bomber things?"
I gave him facts like number of airman that would fly in it the engine spec and I thought the clincher how many brave men not much older than him lost their lives in them. he replied "no wonder look how bloddy slow it is!"

I was talking to a NT warden in Studland and he hadn't seen anything. As it turns out a) it's a long way away and b) he was busy answering questions rather than looking over at Bournemouth. He even missed a Spitfire that flew overhead. Anyway, I answered a question - Studland beach isn't a good spot to watch from, although I suspect the fast jets would be more noticeable. Even the Red Arrows were a bit far away.

Best is to park in the "Park & Ride". Ok its going to cost you about £10 but the bus into and out is free and they drop you off right behind the clifftop, so you can either just walk to the clifftop fence and watch the displays from left to right, or walk down to the beach and look up.Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
