Channel Air Search's Islander has crash landed in Jersey, all aboard are fine. It was in a joint search with the RNLI for a lost boat in galeforce winds.

Just so strange, I was around Devil's Hole yesterday and took off from Jersey at around 6.50pm so just minutes before the search plane crash landed.

I can indeed vouch for the conditions being atrocious at the time. Visibility approaching the north coast in the driving rain must have been appalling.

Congrats to the crew of the plane; a combination of skill and a fair chunk of lady luck must have been on their side. What I really can't understand is why 5 guys set out to the Ecrehous to check moorings in those conditions. I was at Greve de Lecq at about midday which was low water - and the waves crashing over the Paternosters were just incredible.

Full of respect for the Channel Island Air Search - they've literally saved my life before so it's sad to see this!

Glad everyone's ok and the people that they were searching for have been found too!
