What's the view on the future of HMS Illustrious?
The government say they want to save her for the nation when she leaves service later next year.
Does ship preservation work? Maybe she should be sold for scrap like this blog says?

The only way this would work? Allocate it a berth near the Warrior on the corner of the jetty at Portsmouth harbour.Modify the access points to get on board, even recessing the jetty itself so the ship is boxed in if you like.
Then throw in some guaranteed government financing, and convert the hanger
into a Falklands Museum and hope she can become self sufficient enough not to cost the tax payer to much money?
