This has to be one of the most beautiful powerboats on the water doesn't it?

Swordfish 36 is nicer and properly british but no less wildly expensive.

And a Ferrari and a Volvo are both made of metal...If you cant understand the difference between that Corsair and a Bayliner then fair enough, but the craftsmanship that goes into that Corsair (they're built by hand, take five months to build and are built in tiny numbers by Venetian craftsmen) is incomparable.
Arguably they are further away from massed produced boats than Ferrari are from Fords.
Incidentally, Rivas are GRP these days.

In part it's because they are from the same era. The Corsair was originally a nineteen sixties race boat that was then produced as a high performance cruiser. The current version is apparently, bar a few tweaks, unchanged cosmetically from the original. Obviously all the mechanicals are bang up to date though.
I think it's glorious, like being able to buy a new handbuilt Lamborghini Miura with Aventador running gear.

Pretty sure that's right. There's a feature in Motor Boats Monthly this month (hence that video), I'll double check.
But it really is a very exclusive hand built beautifully wrought thing.
Hence it is so much money. You could have a new forty foot Princess for a similar amount, and the vast majority would (given that budget).
But clearly there are a few buyers that really get it, just like there are for cars like Zondas.
And I doubt there is much of that size that would stay with it in rough weather.
Personally I don't think that there is anything in production today to touch it for sheer style either.
