I know that some of the forum members do a lot of flying for work and so I was wondering how many flights people have taken this year. For me I have taken in the last 6 months:

38 flights on Oman Air
2 on FlyDubai
2 on British Airways

Going back a little further I have probably averaged 7 flights a month for the previous 2 1/2 years.

Hopefully my project in Oman will finish by the end of the year so that I will be able to spend some time working out my main office and spend some time at home with the family.

For 2013, 30 flights with LH Group, including Polish LOT, LH & LX

Plus around another 10 using low-cost carriers or over to Ireland with Aer Lingus.

First yeat I started my current role, I made Senator with LH in 9 months (100k status miles, making 86 flights within Europe in 11 months, since then I've average 40-50k status miles which renews LH FTL every year.

Did 108 flights last year and "only" on 87 for this year - but will end the year at just under 100.

Mostly with KLM, some SAS / Luftwaffe, Cathay and Emirates.

Am KLM Platinum for Life (have been for 11 years), Star Alliance Silver, Cathay Pacific Silver, Emirates Gold . . . . . Luckily am allowed business class when flying more than 6 hours in total.

Most weeks, so somewhere around 50ish I think. First 7 months all with the Nazis apart from one retur trip with Virgin to Cuba. Since Aug Ive done one trip with BA from London to Munich which SUCKED and done the rest to Munich from my usual Brum with Lufthansa which aren't too bad. Nobody is a patch on Naziair though from my experience.

Just under 40 sectors so far in 2013, mostly in and out of AMS on KLM (BHX, LHR, LCY), 4 sectors on Emirates BHX -> DUR via DXB.

2014 will be a similar number in and out of AMS, and at least 2 trips to DUR either on Emirates or KLM depending on miles and frequent flyer status.

eek 2.8 flights p/wk, including a lot of long haul, is one serious travel diary.

Indeed - the novelty wore off pretty quickly when all this started. I sometimes do 3 flights per 24 hours, never mind per week. I've also flown form the US to Japan and spent less than 48 hours there before heading home again, twice this year.

All a result of living in the south east US, having key clients in the mid-west and who have a need to conduct their research in Europe and Japan frequently.

Not uncommon for me to leave Orlando on Sunday night, have a 2 hour briefing/presentation in Indianapolis, starting at 8.00am and be back home by 2.00pm Monday - and then head out to wherever on Monday evening. Glamorous, it is not.

Thank God I live very close to a major international airport, some of my colleagues' jumping off points are regional airports and have twice as many connecting flights as I do.

72 flights on BA since January (I counted).
Mostly domestic but a couple of trips to LA, SF, and three to Vancouver; plus a trip to Abu Dhabi and a trip to Dubai.
A dozen or so on BMI regional
A dozen or so on FlymayBe
A couple of EasyJets
And just one trip on KLM.

I hate flying frown

4 flights next week too...all domestics.

Flying is part of my job as the conpanies Dubia office covers the middle east. When I was based in Delhi I managed to rack up over 80 flights in one year internally, with 40 flights with Jet Airways in 5 months.

I average 3 flights a month, with at least one of them a long haul over 12 hours. I work in the USA but live in the Philippines, and rotate every five weeks.

Occasionally I've done Houston-Moscow-Singapore-Manila, which is 12 hrs, 13 hrs and 3 hrs back to back

Unbelievably I still don't have any gold frequent flyer cards, as my company buy my flights and seem to rotate across every possible airline on the map.

Nail on the head, though sounds like you have it a lot worse than me - I'm glad I don't have to deal the TSA, and that's for certain.

Hope 2014 goes easier for you...

I'm at 110 plus for the year, and only 4 more to go. Accumulated 405,000 air miles with One World in 20 months since starting the job.

A result of being UK based looking after clients In Europe and Russia, my operations center in Dubai and my manufacturing centers in Houston and Calgary. Plus a healthy amount of travel on my downtime.

All in the back of the bus, not fun!! The weird thing is more than a few days at home without a trip and I start to get itchy fingers again.

Relocating to Dubai in the new year which should help limit the travel, and Emirates have kindly offered to match my BA Gold status, result!
