As you may have read, I'm in America on a scholarship with Bristow. Follow my journey.

Just bookmarked your thread and best of luck. A work mate of mine went to California years ago to train as a helo pilot and he's still over there living the dream and piloting for a living.

Perhaps I was a little churlish to use the word vain. Presumptuous may have been a little more what I meant.
Your initial post seems to presume that:
1) We (collectively) know just who you are
2) We know what a Bristow Scholarship is
3) We want to follow your American adventure for reasons that may be obvious to you, but maybe not others

I sincerely wish you every success in your endeavors and hope that you enjoy your time in the US - but I don't think I can be arsed to periodically check-in to see how you are doing.

So my conclusion of vanity was harsh and ill-considered (perhaps) - so humor me - why do you feel the need to share this with complete strangers?

I do - it's frequently similar to a brag.

I suspect Ed posted the link here because he got a lot of replies to a thread earlier in the year about applying for a Bristow scholarship, with a lot of people expressing interest and wishing him well with it.

So not especially presumptuous at all, IMO at least.

OK - now I understand a little better. Perhaps some reference to that earlier thread may have given a different perspective to those 'not in the know'.

Sure - if its BP&T related of course. After all that's the topic of this forum and the thing we are all interested in which brings us here. I hope you are getting as much enjoyment from your adventures as the OP is from his, and that they help to de-stress you and lower your blood pressure, because life's too short to be vitriolic to strangers on internet forums. Happy new year, have a great 2014 beer

Very classy response - thank you for that. Best wishes to everyone for 2014 - particularly the fledgeling pilot!

I am quite a depressed person at heart but you lot have me beat biggrin

OP I look forward to your blogs. I like it when people do things like this and write about them. It's interesting and it takes me away from my humdrum life.

People posting blow by blow pics of man cabins that they have built, restorations, journeys made across Europe and beyond, keep them coming. I, for one, am glad that people can be bothered to do this.

Best of luck in your new adventure.

I'm sure I won't bother logging into the blog - but periodic updates on this thread might be worth reading.

I'm not really a "bloggist" (a person who reads blogs - as opposed to "blogger" - a person who writes blogs).
