Share of Catalina for sale
Discussion
Ooh, so tempted but don't think I can afford the buy in. It's a lovely aircraft.
Pay a bit extra and get a flying share, even more tempting! Having a catalina and A320 on my licence would surprise a lot of TRE's at my 6 monthly sim checks!
Oh to have a bit of spare cash lying down the back of the sofa.

Ed's rules of GA aircraft ownership, fractional or otherwise:
1) Never regard any capital outlay as an investment, only regard it as a means of acquiring a new liability.
2) If you can't cheerfully afford to write off the cash spent on an acquisition almost immediately afterwards, and equally cheerfully put your hand in your pocket for exactly the same amount to fund an unforseen maintenance bill, then sooner or later you're going to find yourself not being very cheerful at all.
Understand these two simple rules, and you won't be disappointed. Fail to do so, and much will be the wailing and gnashing of teeth, as sure as night follows day.

I think its a 20th share with a healthy slush fund. I reckon you'd be safe with this.1) Never regard any capital outlay as an investment, only regard it as a means of acquiring a new liability.

Also the a/c develops it's own income and sounds like a lot of fun doing air shows around Europe.
I am still tempted!

I presume it's the UK based example. They've been running the aircraft on this basis for about ten years and it seems to be self sustaining. I've chatted to the group at Farnborough and they seem a nice bunch.
Yes it's G-PBYA based at Duxford a great bunch of people, if I had the spare money I'd certainly do it, would beat travelling to airshows in a helicopter. Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

If it was I might be tempted even though it would be finical suicide.
