Cargo ship 'Luno' breaks in two off French coast

Empty spanish cargo ship breaks in two after hitting a sea wall (apparently had engine problems). Fortunately only injury reported so far is broken nose, crew all airlifted to safety.

Salvage will be interesting!

Very interesting footage,hope everyone was off before it broke in 2 and really started pitching around. With hindsight would the crew have been better off abandoning ship before it was driven into the harbour and sea wall?

I'm not sure that they were off when it was pitching around. Why else would the rescue helicopter have been there trying to get a hi line on board? All credit to the crew man on the end of the wire - he must carry his bks around in a wheelbarrow.
