Just Jane Experience
Discussion
Have booked surprise tickets for my dad's 60th (& myself) to do the taxying experience day with the Pantons Lancaster 'Just Jane'
Looking forward to it, has anybody done this?
I see they have added Harold & Fred's initials to the aircraft code to honour the brothers..particularly Fred who recently passed. Nice touch.

Well, if you haven't already done it, you will have a great time.
I did mine last year.
You are able to sit at each crew position, while still on the ramp, which gives you an excellent perspective on just how crowded the interior of a Lancaster really is ! Afterwards, you select a crew position, and remain there for the taxy out onto the grass field and back. Just a sensational experience.
The facilities are excellent, and well worth wandering around before or after your ride.
Have a great time !

Yep, did it a couple of years back and very much enjoyed it. Wish I'd taken a better camera of even a Go-Pro type video cam to record it. There is/was an official photographer on hand who was taking pics of everyone from the ground posing in the pilots seat you could buy.
I really enjoyed the family type atmosphere and passion of everyone involved in keeping Just Jane on display and it great condition.
read more here of my day.

Had a tour round JJ a few years ago. Nice little museum but my prevailing memory is of the stench from the chicken sheds! Hopefully the wind will be blowing the other way for you
I'm 6'2" and I gave up trying to get to the tail turret. You have to climb over the spars for the tailplane, I was worried that I was going to get stuck and didn't want to be responsible for the fire brigade cutting her in half to get me out!
Amazed me how exposed you feel under that big plexiglass canopy.
Beautiful aircraft though, you should have a great day!
