mk 9 urLynx and Wildcat have wheels despite the mk 9 being an 'army' helicopter - the Naval lynx have had wheeled undercarriage from the beginning although the Army versions from mks 1 - 7 had skids
It should be noted that the wheeled undercarriage of the naval Lynx variants is very different to that on the Mk.9. In addition to the aft wheels being smaller and mounted on sponsons, they are toed-out so that, in conjunction with the deck-securing 'harpoon', the helicopter can rotate into-wind while still securely locked down on deck.AFAIK the new Lynx Wildcat will have a common wheeled undercarriage arrangement, regardless of Army/RN variant.

Which is also in conjunction with the nose wheels being turned through 90 degrees. All wheels have to face fore-aft before you attempt to move the aircraft on the ground though. It would be a bit 'heavy-going' otherwise.
Actually, it is also possible to set the main wheels to toe-in. (Not that you'd ever want to). This is because the port and stbd u/c legs on a Naval Lynx are identical assemblies. They can be fitted on either side.

Never seen one with wheels before, not that I've been looking... Doesn't look right... I bet they slow it down a fair amount!
It's a 175 knot helicopter!mph1977 said:

Wouldn't do this with wheels hanging in the airflow!
