Morning all,
Just thought i'd post a few recent steam pics that i've taken this year smile This year and also last has all been about celebrating Mallards 75th year of taking the speed record for a steam loco, an impressive 126mph down Stoke bank. So with this in mind we have done a few charters featuring the A4's, these were both taken during a Neil Cave photocharter at Barrow Hill

Another superb event i attended this year, was the Once in a Blue Moon staged at Didcot, it bought together 3 BR blue livered locos for the first time in nearly 50 years, we had 6023 King Edward II, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley and new boy 60163 Tornado. Again another night shoot from Neil Cave resulted in some pleasing images smile

Moving on to the smaller locos now we had another charter this time down at the South Devon Railway using Collett Goods, 3205 in recently lined BR Green, and wow did she look superb!

And finally one more from last year taken at Didcot here we see 6023 King Edward II soaking up the last of the suns rays

If you have any feedback on the images i'd love to hear from you, good or bad it can only help me to improve smile
More can be found on my flickr smile

All the best

I prefer the ones in the dark they have significantly more atmosphere than the one in daylight.

The one with the Collett Goods could be a picture postcard!

Are there going to be any other 90mph runs this year?

The green 3205 is a good pic.

Manmade "clouds" from the green funnel look like nature's clouds in the blue sky.

Many thanks for all the replies guys smile

Chris, its a lot easier creating atsmosphere at night with the steam as with a long exsposue it just seems to hang in the air smile

Mrmaggit, cheers mate, have sold a few prints of this one smile

Olf, i dont think so mate, 60019 Bittern was given special permission in order to do the three 90mph runs as part of celebrating the Mallard 75 year, although never say never as 60163 Tornado was built with 90mph running in mind smile

cheers Lamboman, we got very lucky with the weather on the first day, blue skies and white fluffy clouds smile

Vournikas, thank you smile these are two of my favs too smile

As they have gone down fairly well, heres a few more smile

They're very good - I also like the dark ones. Reminds me I need to check what specials are planned over summer so I can get out and have a look.

Fantastic work, MT. The landlord at my local would love some of those as prints on the wall in the front bar yes

What camera do you use Matt, and how do you manage to get such vibrant colour to your night shots?
Fabulous pictures.
