We went down to try and see it.

Got there at about 5:30 and it was already packed.

When it got to 6:20 and we heard it wasn't coming in till 7:20, we decided to leave. Probably a good job too as the police had just arrived, probably wanting to move people off the side and middle of the dual carriageway.

It actually landed at about 7:45, so we'd have been waiting even longer, and we were hungry, biggrin

Have to wait for the next time now, biggrin

I'm going to the Aeropark. Entrance is £3 and there are mounds to go and stand on - http://goo.gl/maps/5JQgo

^ That's probably the best bet. The usual stopping spots on the road around the airport will probably either be closed or chock full of sunburn metal fans.

Hope you have better luck than me.
When I went to watch her take off from MAN last year, it was going to be 1000, then 1100, then 1230, then 1400, then I had to go to work..

It finally took off the next day!

been tracking on Flight Radar (ADB5983 if any one is interested) looks like it will be flying too far east for me to see it though (I'm in Reading)

She was a big girl alright! Quite a lot of people at the aeropark, nice turnout.

You'll have to be quick though, currently descending through FL23 eta 22 minutes.
