That very much deserves saving but surely it would cost a fortune each year to maintain it too.

Having been on a WW2 submarine in SanFransisco harbour, I can say that old ships like this are fascinating to walk around so it could become an exhibit somewhere.

Nice to save some heritage - but it is already overseas and the destruction process imminently pending - if you will pardon the analogy - surely the ship has sailed on this one.........

And yet £200K is about two minutes of the country's spending on benefits*. It could so easily be done.
