I'm working in the Old St. area today, and most of the morning, at least 2 Lynx have been circling round overhead, fairly low. Anyone know why? Don't know if it's related, but there also now seems to be an AS350 with what looks like a camera pod on its nose, hovering over the Barbican.

We had a Navy lynx and two JHTS Squirrels fly overhead here in Wandsworth. Could be training exercise, urban navigation or something?

I'm on Bishopsgate and saw 3 come from the river, circle around Old Street, one dropped below the tree line by Burnhill Row for 30 secs, came back up, and they circled again and then headed North.

That was at about 11:30...I reckon they were just trying to confuse the hell out of office workers - it worked! wink

Standard training. A lot of landing sites in London. As for the circling if using the heli lanes they sometimes get asked to hold for various reasons.
