Hamble Point Slipway.

Anyone launched at Hamble point? Is there much of a current across the slipway. Also, do you need to pay harbour dues this far down? Thinking of launching there next weekend.

Tidal range today is a little over 2mtrs, so neaps. Next weekend springs. The flood itde rushes across there but the real issue will be the ebb, flood and stand on springs is about 8 hours with most of the ebb in four hours, so its bloody fast, especially just there. Depending on the size of boat you might find it tricky.

Not sure about harbour dues, I would think the HM wouldn't be too bothered, but MDL will want to collect their slipway fee (which may include harbour dues within it, my annual marina fee includes harbour dues).

If you're looking for a good slipway in Hamble I'd suggest Mercury Marina.

Good concrete and useable except at low tide.

I just google Eagle 525, I think you would struggle to launch that at Hamble Point if the tide is running.

There is bottom of Hamble High Street, but trailer parking and car parking a mare.

As above, Mercury.

There's public slipways right next to Deacon's and the chinese rest't opposite but no parking.

You might try Foulkes Chandlery barge.

There's round behind What was Moody's, now Premier Swanwick, that might be a good option, tide wouldn't be a problem, plenty space for trailers, small car park, not sure about fees.

Warash, but lots of Jet Skiers.

I will give mercury a ring in the morning. I would assume that parking for car and trailer wouldn't be a problem but I can't find the charges on the web site.
