Flying Legends - Anyone going?

The best air show in the UK in my eyes. For viewing the far left is normally the best position as some of the planes tend to cut the corner slightly giving you a great view, it also gives you a great view for landings and also a few of the planes sit right in front of you whilst waiting for take off. I'll never forget losing my hat one year when the Dutch B-25 was revving up his engines with his back to the crowd! You'll love it!
I'll be there both days 
My tips are either:
1) Chuck a few quid at Friends of The Fighter Collection and in exchange for helping keep these aeroplanes airworthy you get a seated enclosure fairly front central. Ok the camera pillocks with a clear view at the front STILL all stand up to get the same photo from 18" higher up but there's far less to block the view than from outwith an enclosure or...
2) Go stand on the embankment near the Land Warfare Museum. You're off-axis for the main display pieces but you get a clear view of everything and a great view of takeoffs and landings.

1. The TFC Gold hospitality this weekend, at £80 a ticket, sod that (even though you get an a la carte meal and a marquee to sit in.
I've been at the front and stood to take the odd photo of an aircraft taxiing as sat down there is a sodding fence in the way, but never when they're in the air
2. If that is what you want, then get there very early to get a spot as it is very popular

Sorry if I wasn't clear - I didn't mean the Gold enclosure. Friends of The Fighter Collection have a separate enclosure to the right of the Gold Enclosure (as you stand looking at the flightline with your back to all the hangars) you can enter if you join FOTFC either here: http://fighter-collection.com/cft/foftfc/ for a tenner or on the day at the little desk in their marquee tent thingie. The tenner gets you in and seated and includes the Flightline Walk as well as newsletter things from TFC. The participation list : http://www.iwm.org.uk/sites/default/files/2014%20F...

Thanks for the clarification, I might well do that, got a 9 year old in tow and this might help entertain and let him rest I have shoulder length dark hair as does my wife and will have girls 4 and 2 years old so feel free to say "hi"

Legends classes with RIAT-Fairford, not Farnborough.
And yes, hopefully I'll be going.
However, if time goes against me to be able to go properly for the day, I'll have to resort to riding up on the m/c at last minute and park up outside somewhere for a few hours and just watch a bit of it instead.

In the days when I used to ride up and go in, I used to take my mountain bike chain as well, and put that through the jacket sleeve and skid lid and around the frame and leave them with the bike.Having no hair left, I ALWAYS take some suncream
It was hot there on Sat though......
It was good fun on Saturday though seriously hot and humid. It was the first time I've had a small person in tow, so we had to bail out early after her patience well and truly ran out just after 1600.
Highlight of the day for me was the bearcat. Stonking stuff.
Off to Farnborough for a few days of work stuff and trying not to let the cat out of the bag until the official announcement on our new a/c order.

I went yesterday - great day as usual. Highlights were the Super Constellation and the P-26 Peashooter, plus all the Spitfires. Shame not all the aircraft were in the Balbo, and a few no-shows, but a really enjoyable day. It was very crowded which I hope is a good sign for the future...
Great photos, will get around to mine soon.
A great day, my nephew enjoyed himself and has asked to go back to the museum to see it properly - result. Jamie, thanks for the advice about FoTFC area, paid my tener and happy chap.

But we put these to good use
and walked down the flight line
It’s a very blokey day. Massive camera envy everywhere you looked people wheeling f
king suitcases of lenses around! You had to take your crumpet where you could find it
You can have ride in one of these for £50
And you get to see
And some more pics
Beatrice LaStrange really enjoyed it and has given the nod for coming again next year. Hooray!
