So, I'm on a late fortnight hold down in Wales, and find myself with a decent driving distance of the Mach loop. The intention is to use a day to go up there sometime in the next two weeks. I realise that the loop is very unpredictable, and won't blame anyone for a wasted journey, but any tips for the best time of the week to go? The RAF website is showing 1 hour a day allowable flying, which I realise does not mean they are, merely that they can fly. Presumably other parties such as USAF can use it at other times?

Ignore the website. Don't go on a Monday morning or a Friday afternoon. Any other time it's pot luck obviously we are down on aircraft in the UK with tornados in Cyprus and a typhoon squadron on exercise overseas. A quick google should bring a website with good locations though.
