Southampton - Cowes Red Funnel Ferry out of service?

One of the Red Funnel ferries that run from Southampton to Cowes is in the docks, has been for a little while, anybody know why its out of service?

The winter service only operates every 90 minutes so they just need two ferries on the job to run it.

Ah, thanks, I did wonder if that might be the case.

And when I went over last Saturday, there was barely half a deck of vehicles on both the 0715 to Cowes and the 1330 back.

The demand at this time of year appears to be less than would actually justify a 90-minute interval, but I would imagine there might be restless native syndrome breaking out if it was reduced any further.
