Apache flying low up the Thames this afternoon

Was with Mrs P up at St Thomas hospital this afternoon and as we left looked up and there was an Apache gunship flying along the Thames very low - 500ft ish

It was almost low enough to fly between the bridge and top of tower bridge.

Anyone else see what it was doing?

Military helicopters are not an unusual sight in London, they transit the heli-lanes along the Thames.

There are numerous threads on here. You have the London Heli lanes which is a daily route for military helicopters. Chinooks and apaches are the main users. And if your lucky you'll see them in the hold like a chinook did last year during the test match cricket over lords.

i live in london but dont often ge into town. ive seen a few Chinook's flying over the city before but got a bit excited when i saw that yesterday.

Last time I saw a thread like this the pilot popped up on the first page & turned out to be a regular PH'er.
