Gulf Air War video
Discussion
Evening all,
I have the following VHS tape:

I am currently trying to update the last vestiges of my video collection to dvd, which now means trying to source all the obscure special interest videos on DVD if available. Does anyone know who the video was made by, or when? The only clue on the box states "Leisure View Video LVV 3588", which returns nothing on google.
Thanks,
Matt

Given DVD isn't a really current format. Would you not be better off copying the tape onto your PC.
There must be plenty of VHS to PC conversion gadgets and software.
There are, and I have got one. But the quality is shocking when you play a 600x400 video in dvd resolution, especially not helped by the constant aliasing as the 2 resolutions do not divide cleanly into each other. There must be plenty of VHS to PC conversion gadgets and software.
If Dvd isn't the current format, then what is? BluRay remains an expensive diversion for Availability purists with a TV big enough to actually notice an appreciable quality difference. Plus, DVD is truly multi-platform

Ive been scouring the internet and ebay for a full length copy of "The Boys from Bahrain" for years now. Dont suppose anyone has a full length copy and not the 5 minute one on youtube ?
Not 'The Boys from Bahrain' but I took loads of footage during the Gulf War in Bahrain whilst with XV Squadron. One day I'll get it published. Were you there?Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
