Saw that flying at Biggin Hill in 1987.

George Aird delivering RS712 to Kermit. George also ferried over Mosquito B.35 RS709 from UK to the USAF museum at Dayton, USA a few years earlier.
George was an ex-BAe TP who had flown many hours in Mossie's alongside reknowned ex-DH Mossie TP Pat Fillingham, and displayed the much missed RR299 owned by BAe.

George is also well known for this incident

I've seen that photo many times but that version does seem to have been "altered" in some subtle way.

I think it's only because it's a 'first gen' digital copy from the original that was released from the copyright holder a few years back which IIRC, is the newspaper archive that the original photographer sold the photos to back in 1962. Most of the other versions on the net are scans of scans of scans.

I marshalled him into the slot at RAF Marham for an open day back in the early eighties, quite intimidating marshalling all that snorting horsepower and whirling metal!
