Boat windscreens

Why do pleasure boats, even ocean going yachts, have sloping windscreens like cars while serious boats for fishing and rescues have windscreens that slope the other way, with the top in front of the base?
Is it just that pleasure boats aren't expected to go out in the rain? Seems odd for some of the big ones.

On ships they slope outwards towards the top to stop lights from instrument panels etc. reflecting on the inside at night.
yep - same with COntrol towers on airfields clearing screens is done with wipers or a clearview panel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_view_screen
