Fishfinder/GPS combo
Discussion
Bit of advice required please.
Currently have a small Humminbird 'Wide Optic' black & white finder & a separate small GPS touchscreen unit.
Looking at upgrading to a single larger colour unit with GPS & downvision/down vu capability.
Will be on an open 17' boat so will get wet - rain & saltwater spray - & having tried touchscreen I don't want a touchscreen.
Will be mainly coastal use in one area.
Budget around £700ish.
The Raymarine Dragonfly 7 appears to tick the boxes, has anyone used/got one & if so how does it stack up?

I have a Lowrance Elite 4 http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-... on my boat and its a great little tool. Your budget would allow a much bigger unit, so worth looking at.
Thanks. I am looking at the larger screens. I have been doing a lot more digging on the net & the Lowrance Elite 7 series also tick all the boxes. So I'm even morethan I was!
Difficult to look at them as I'm in Leicester which is about as far from the coast - so limited in chandlers - in any direction as you can get!
How good is the down imaging on yours in reality?

I rarely use it in fish finder mode as its generally on the plotter screen with temp and depth overlaid. However it does show a crisp image of the bottom and you can change the scroll rate to suit. The main thing is it does have a bright screen so can be seen in all lights, that said mine is under a cuddy as pictured.
