Spitfire over Farnborough?
Discussion
0940hrs, 07 May 2015 - I heard the sound of something less 'ordinary' than the usual GA private and flying school light aircraft that operate daily out of Blackbushe. Then I spotted a fast moving low-wing monoplane heading SSE, so I leapt to action to grab the binos. Sadly it was too fast moving, and by the time I grabbed some optical assistance, it was out of sight. I'd estimate that it was flying on a heading that would put it somewhere near Chichester, so I'm imagining it's going to Goodwood/Westhampnett. I can't swear to it being a Spitfire, but it sounded 'right', although it was fairly low, so the viewing angle was too 'flat' to see wing shape, and it was too distant to see any specific detail.
Lots of fly pasts for VE Day tomorrow but apparently the Lanc has had an engine fire this afternoon.
