RIAT Tickets and Enclosures

I am looking to buy tickets for the family for RIAT but wondered if buying an 'enclosure' ticket is necessary?

I imagine we will enjoy walking around the static displays but will we get a good view of the flying display if just buying a pauper ticket?

Also, what are the queues like to get in and out of the car park on Saturday?

I went in 2013 and the traffic in was ok on the green route traffic was steady moving, took us about an hour to do 8 miles and only just got in on time. There is a radio station for the show which gives traffic updates.

Getting out was a breeze though.

In my experience you get a good enough view from the standard tickets. I'd say the main advantage of the enclosures is that they provide seating, rather than you dragging chairs around with you, or sitting on the ground.

Having worked numerous RIAT shows I would say the biggest complaint is how long it took to get in the traffic is awful at most air shows as they are located in the middle of nowhere so have poor roads leading to the gates.

The other delay is being a military show bag checks are carried out and most visitors to these shows pack the kitchen sink so they delay your entry.

Once in the site is HUGE and I would say no need for grandstand seats as there is so much going on. Of course if you have your breitling you can access their VIP area and have a free beer and ice cream.

I don't know what a fake Brietling is but I have known someone to get through with a fake Breitling
