Two WW2 type aircraft flying North towards the Lake District over Silverdale around mid-afternoon. Any ideas?

BBMF web site says the Dakota was going to Lossiemouth, but that's only one and I might be betraying my poor geography.

Sorry, they were quite distant, but the noise certainly makes the Dakota possible. If only there weren't two!
Both looked single engined, although again, I could easily be mistaken.

Well one of those is wrong
