Igor Kolokolov has taken a huge amount of pictures inside and outside one of the massive Russian ekranoplans in Kaspiysk.

I've seen pictures of these legendary monsters before but never inside them and never so close.

These things were completely bonkers. I remember watching a doco on them on Discovery yonks ago (available on you tube now I think).

I'd love to be able to climb over and around one of these. Thanks for the link.

Amazing.

The artificial horizon reads up to 15 degrees. Would that kind of banking risk dropping a float into the water and causing all sorts of problems?

Is there any video of one of these turning?

Footage outside and inside of it running here half way through. However the first minute or 2 is very interesting on a different project. http://youtu.be/Wy0UNvL37vo

It looks in quite good condition for it's age, especially inside. I assume someone is looking after it.
