I think the Telegraph reported it as a " 'Spitfire' crash " which was quite refreshing to get some accuracy from the media for a change.

Not necessarily. It will no doubt require a major inspection and the engine and its bearings may need replacing due to any shock loading.

It's definitely need a new prop

Agreed.
Whenever there's the slightest hint of something going wrong in an aeroplane there's nothing more comforting than the sight of a crash tender.
Better to have them there and not need them than need them and not have them there.
The other thing to remember is that the first stages of post-crash recovery (making the aircraft safe and containing any fuels or oils etc.) is down to the crash crews so although they may not have a dire life-or-death situation to rush to they still have work to do.

It pulls up to a complete stop in the most undramatic crash landing I have ever seen (well done pilot). Quite clearly was not on fire, but they still had to drive up to it? Why?

Just in case it DOES catch fire.

Also, fire crews are well trained in extraction techniques, so they would also be ready to spring into action if the pilot was trapped or injured.

Bit like a rescue crew filming the final approach to a potential crash site, which could prove extremely useful to crash investigators.
But yes, what utter clowns. Perhaps they've got a vacancy and you could apply to join?
