Anyone else take advantage of the perfect weather conditions on Sunday? (25th October)

Clear blue skies, zero wind, flat seas, perfect!

I took our demonstrator out (new Jeanneau Leader 36 with twin Volvo D4-260s), picked up some family from Yarmouth and then headed over to Alum Bay for a picnic onboard. Yarmouth was packed with a queue waiting of boats waiting for a berth, so it seemed like there were lots of people out for one last run.

A few of my pics...

Deckhand (girlfriend!)

For me it was meant to be races 7/8 of the Hamble winter series. Although I live local I decided to spend the Saturday night on board so I could have a few gins in the evening. And I'm glad I did the view in the morning was stunning.

We then headed to the start line off of hill head where we met the other competitors and not a sail in site! With still wind racing wasn't going to happen any time soon

But after a 3.5 hour delay we had a short race with a slight wind. Sadly I was too busy to get a photo in the short race.

Wow, stunning first photo. Looks perfect.

Yes, it was rather still, nice for motorboat cruising, not so good for sailing!

Yes I would of happily swapped with you for Sunday! Do you get out much with the demonstrators?

When I have time. I'm usually a bit busy in the summer!

We have the Leader 36 on the water, but I don't want to put too many hours on this, with it being an expensive boat, so I've only used it a couple of times.

We usually have a Jeanneau Cap Camarat 6.5m boat on the water for demos and for us to use. We've just got in a new Cap Camarat 6.5 CC for next year as I've just sold our 2015 boat.

Yes, albeit in a different part of the world. Enjoying the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan. smile

Boat comes out of the water for the winter Nov 1st so trying to get in as many jaunts as possible before the end of the season. Although lake conditions can quickly get uncomfortable/dangerous this time of year for smaller craft so not wise to venture far from port.

Not Sunday, last Thursday (I ducked off work to get out one last time on a decent day). This is also on Lake Michigan (about 40 miles north of Chicago).

@DVS_Dave - We took our boat down to Waukegan (haul out) on Saturday (crew was only available that day). It was an 'interesting ride' to say the least.

I'm fed up not having a boat.

I was 'between boats' for a few months Oct-Mar one year. Even though I wouldn't have used it much during that time, it felt surprisingly claustrophobic not having the option.
