I just saw this, a hot air balloon at around 17,000ft, which I thought was out of the ordinary,

My main question is, it must be pitch black, do balloons often fly at night, and how do they see where to land?

It's in the Alps area - any chance they've forgotten to turn off the transponder and its actually being towed along? It's getting lower!!!
