Not sure why you would make a 115mpg torpedo stealthy, it's not like there's a way of stopping something that fast underwater. Or is there? Short of putting a big bomb in the way I can't think of a way, but even that could be easily circumvented by making random course changes every 10 minutes.

The range caught my attention. My previous understanding of the supercavitation torpedos is that they are rocket powered - which doesn't seem compatible with 6000 miles!

Not quite sure what you mean, but the torpedo has a cobolt warhead, which has rather a lot more power than 'some sweepings'. After the initial bang the half life is 5 years from memory, making the whole area uninhabitable for a very long time.
