Skydeck, or viewing dome on an airliner

Wow would love a go on that would also like it if the seats could rotate so you could watch the rear rudder and vapour trails while in flight, view from up there would be pretty sweet.

But why? All they are going to see is empty sky or clouds. At the point where you can see something of interest, you are about to die as your airliner is upside down.

The Northern lights are a regular feature of flying to LA or SanFran from the UK, I'd love it if more people on the plane could share the view, either through better cameras or a dome. Personally I think the domes unlikely as the fuel burn increases/revenue increases are unlikely to balance. IMO.

I cant imagine anyone will cut a massive hole ina pressurised airliner and stick a massive window in it, surely the plane would have to be designed with it in mind from the start and have significant bracing, plus, what about all the cabling and stuff in the loft space ?

Ryanair are working on something similar for rapid passenger drop off to reduce landing fees.

They been trialing the in flight entertainment system in the Vulcan that's displayed at the RAF Museum, Hendon.

You'd think that would be a great feature for pilots as well - check the engines, is the rudder still attached etc etc.

Depends on how much they charge for it I guess - and given how much people seem to bung at Emirates for some of their first class facilities I expect the charge would be very high indeed.
