Too f
king complicated ....they should have stuck to tried and tested propulsion plants ...not something that needs a BAE contractor to fly out and fix....they should never have ditched the batch 3 T42's..........the T45's are all robbed of crew anyway to start filling the flat-tops....crying shame our Navy has got to this state....

I have no doubt who will be picking up the tab.
what propulsion system do the carrier's without aircraft have?
Have heard it's got nowt to do with engines but electrical power generation...
The aircraft carriers use MT30s not WR21s.what propulsion system do the carrier's without aircraft have?

Where do you think the electrical power comes from?
well, lets face it, whoever designed the ships took the view as the craft had such super air defence systems that cost a packet, get some cash back by skimping on engines on the basis if the engines broke, they could easily defend themselves till they got a tow so no problem...................................

But that's very short sighted. The ships will need their engines to make them go fast enough to keep up with the aircraft carriers currently being built. They can do a submarine beating 45 kts donchaknow./cough/

If true, I'm sure it's then only a pure coincidence that said politician's constituency was quite close to HQ of WR21 maker.......
