What are these train "units"/containers?

Apologies, very unhelpfully I don't have photos but I've seen these things a few times.

The ones I see are always a light blue with DB written on the side.

They have no windows but a single set of doors on the side, and appear to be slightly less tall than carriages.

From what I can see they have a fixed roof so aren't for aggregate or anything like that but they're in long trains such as for cargo.

I just googled and I don't think so.

They were metal skinned and the doors were kinda people sized iirc.

They looked kind of military in a weird way.

Or in the UK, DB Schenker - what used to be EWS & before that BR Railfreight. The only bit of BR's freight operation they don't own is Freightliner.

There's something about seeing German logos on British trains that really irks me. Obviously I'm also irked by seeing foreign-built locomotives and trains on British tracks too. The newest British-built locomotive I've seen is 'Tornado'.

Erm. I think Tornado IS the newest British built mainline locomotive!
Anyway, German logos appear on a lot more than just the freight trains - Arriva Wales, CrossCountry, Grand Central and Chiltern are all owned by DB, London Overground is half run by them and Northern will shortly be operated by them. I suppose the Arriva circle thing originally represented a British company, but it's been German for years.

My Dad drives for DB Schenker, I'm fairly certain you're referring to a car transporter as he transports cars an awful lot down here in the South.

I drive these, they are indeed car transporters. Not seen the Minis for a while, full of Jags at the moment, about 300 of them.

If your in the Didcot/Oxford area you will also see red covered wagons carrying Evoques also heading for Southampton. The big blue wagons also used to do a run from the Liverpool area as well but seem to have fallen out of favour. According to a clleague(ex Crewe driver) the blue wagons had a serious brake issue and were blacked by ASLEF for a time. Oxford Hinksey yard usually has a train waiting to run up to the Mini plant in the afternoon.
