I caught this yesterday, it's on again now and possibly again later. Great programme about the restoration of one of the Canadian Mosquitoes to flying condition.

PBS America Sky channel 534

It's called Gaining Altitude.

It was very interesting.

Did you also see the programme on the same channel about the frankly bizarre bid to restore to flight a B29 which had crashed landed in (I think) Greenland?

Damn... missed the Mossie programme! The B29 programme was indeed 'bizarre', didn't the rescue mission manage to burn it to a crisp?

The documentary on the B-29 is around 20 years old. It was made as part of the PBS Nova series which shares with BBC's Horizon in the UK. I remember seeing the original Horizon broadcast.

The good news is that a second B-29 is almost ready for a post restoration flight.

It'll be on again I'm sure. PBS repeats very regularly. They do show some excellent programmes though.
The B-29 was indeed a bizarre series of events!

Maggie's War (no, not that one) is an interesting show, but not about Boats, Planes or Trains I'm afraid.

The B29 you are thinking of is the Kee Bird. Rather tragic that one, proof it it were needed that jury-rigging stuff is not worth it - such a waste. frown
