The Boaty McBoatface is quite funny, but Henry deserves it.

Next time maybe they'll just give the ship a sensible name and avoid the social media bks that so many people spiral into thinking its cool. But I suppose they got publicity.

I'd go for 'David Attenborough'.

The rubbish came about because they didn't have a short-list of names and just left it open to everyone to decide.

Whilst Boaty McBoatface is kind of funny, I'd far rather RRS David Attenborough. This is a ship designed to increase our knowledge and I can't think if many people who have educated the public on the natural world in the way that he has and whilst he's still with us, I think it would be a fitting tribute.

RRS Henry Worsely is a close second in my mind. Either would be great.

The final decision will come down to the Chief Exec of NERC, so I very much doubt that this or RRS Pingu, RRS Usain Boat or RRS Boatimus Prime will end up on the side of the ship, though I imagine she'll be colloquially known as Boaty McBoatface in service.
