As in, compact and sporty but well fitted out without being priced like Riva, for example?

If you're prepared to go a bit 70s chestwig, a Bertram 25, Lancer Corniche or an Intermarine 40(as used in The Spy Who Loved Me) might be cheaper(to buy not run!) alternatives.
