Just seen something on Facebook mentioning a comercial airliner landed at Scampton escorted by a jet.

I can't see anything on news sites, and with PH being the centre of all knowledge, this is the next place I looked.

Anyone heard anything?

are you sure it's not the Anson that's been around today, or the Sentinel ? or an E 3 ?

No idea.

As I say, all I know is a post someone just put on a local facebook page.

interesting choice of field unless it's a technical reason , equally however it;s a field that it doesn't matter hugely if operations are limited for a period due to what lives there

The ICAO designator on the flight radar page is TAY which is TNT who do cargo and passenger charter. It also ends in P which suggests a positioning flight.

if it is a cargo aircraft it could be parts etc going to or from either the Reds or HHA then

It was a Denim Air Fokker 100. Denim Air do spot hire and charter work with pax planes. Flight went to Geilenkirchen NATO air base in Germany before ferrying empty back to Amsterdam, so probably a troop flight of some sort.
