Have just seen an Osprey fly up the Thames in Central London!! Pretty impressive.

Have seen many Chinooks and even the odd Apache but a first time for the Osprey.

I saw it too - seemed quite low over the river by Hammersmith Bridge.

Yes I watched it fly over Ruislip. It was around last week also, on Wednesday, a distinctive sound!

Ah, so that's what I heard then. Was out the front of Charing Cross and heard it but never saw what it was.

ETA - Damn.

Damn missed it AGAIN! Seen quite a few Apache movements over London and home over the last week but still not an Osprey frown

I saw it yesterday too, wondered what it was! I was around Greenwich at the time, guess it was on it's way up the river.

We also saw them fly past our office smile Your photos are better than mine...

I was one of the two geeks in the office of 30 that ran to the window with phone in hand. In my haste, I tapped the wrong buttons and ended up facetiming my wife by accident. That probabaly cost me a decent photo...

Yep sitting in my office and can hear the noise. Seems to have been a few.

Just had another couple of minutes ago.

Wonder what it's all about?

The Ospreys are US special forces aircraft. They fly in from the USAF base at Mildenhall then north of London and then follow the river before heading back to Mildenhall. . The Apache is with the army air corps comes from over near Basingstoke (Odiham)
