Lots of rumours around on the net & Facebook.
These vary from fireworks at Wembley after Springsteen, to a QRA (which didn't occur), a meteorite hitting earth somewhere to the most ridiculous story I heard....
That it was the USAF flying their 'top secret' Aurora stealth bomber at Mach 3 over the Atlantic.
It is also reported that the booms where also heard all over the USA at the same time as they were reported in the UK.
There is also a recording on Facebook & You Tube that someone made on their mobile phone due to the number of bangs that were heard.
Have to be honest - it was a little eerie.
