I came past Lakenheath today there was a jumbo parked up in the distance.
The colour scheme looked more red and white than the blue i was expecting.
Does any one know who's it is and what its doing there,
Thanks

The US military uses civilian chartered aircraft quite a lot. Indeed, they always have.

That looks similar with my crappy binos and eyesight i could not see much of it. It was parked over the far side of the airfield and fairly front on.
Cheers

They are currently contracted to the US military for international airlift services.

I think the dutch had tonnes of equipment delivered with their 2.
My mate works at Marham and apparently when we get ours they will have to stay in air conditioned/sealed hangers!

Sounds ideal for a ship deploy-able A/C

I can remember driving past the end of the Lakenheath runway as a jumbo came into land. It was plain white, and given that it was a few years back the words "extraordinary rendition" did pop into my suspicious mind.

Seem to recall the now defunct Evergreen International had some predominantly white Jumbo's and some very odd flight planning........
