Not much info, but got a message from Emirates as an existing customer.

I hope everyone got off safely.

That's a weird combination of ailments.

Yep when I saw this photo it looked like potential fatalities.

Seems that undercarriage failed during landing.

If it had been British Airways they'd have just slapped a bit of Speed tape over the holes and put it back into service the next day tongue out.

All reported here as no injuries.
The fire is out.
No planes taking off all landings diverted to Al Maktoum about 45km away.

Could see the smoke from the office but was out pretty quickly

Pprune says there was smoke on approach and they were putting it down fast due to a fire.

But ...

AV Herald reports a messed-up go-around - approached, decided to go-around, cleared to 4,000 ft, gear up, then came down.

Be interesting to see what pans out in the investigation.

I'm sitting in Melbourne airport waiting on my flight to Dubai, looks like the journey home is going to be a long one.

AVherald reporting:

"...was on final approach to Dubai's runway 12L at 12:41L (08:41Z) but attempted to go around from low height. The aircraft however did not climb, but after retracting the gear touched down on the runway and burst into flames...."

Source: http://avherald.com/h?article=49c12302

Pprune are saying that there was windshear being reported so they may well have got caught in it when they attempted the go around hence the gear being up.

Indeed. They also confirmed no fatalities in the sky-scraper fire at new year, save for a man who later died of a heart-attack.

The whole building went up like a petrol-socked christmas tree, if you recall.

Looks to be down with gear up. Major fire - airframe will be a total loss that's for sure.
Amazing they are reporting everyone out - hope that's the case. Slides deployed ok by the looks of it.

I wonder how many migrant workers were onboard who suddenly weren't..

EK get to keep their fatality-free safety record
