Each set of doors requires greater seat pitch too. 2 more sets of doors will probably cost, what, 6 seats? More? Even without considering the passengers who won't be onboard at Maximum Take Off Weight thanks to the weight of the doors. Those tickets will quickly add up to a lot of lost revenue for no reduction in operating cost.

Every modern airliner can be fully evacuated in under 90 seconds. Do you really think two extra sets of doors would make a significant difference? It won't add a lot of weight, and it won't significantly compromise rigidity, surely?

I do if everybody wants to collect their bags from the overhead on the way out, yes.I have flown a lot in the past. A lot. I've only had two emergency evacs, though, and in both cases they went well, because they were business flights, populated by people who could tie their own shoelaces, and knew how to behave sensibly. These days, the majority of my flights are with people in beachwear who go through life with a sense of entitlement, and given most of them are a sight fatter than me, and won't respond to pushing, I really doubt that 90 second target is could be achieved.
