The Huntsman 28 is undoubtedly the prettiest of all the Fairey boats. About 50% of them remain and this one needs help.

I haven't seen her for a couple of years and she is quite poorly, I thought she was recoverable, would ideally need someone that knows what they are doing with a Fairey boat.As if I don't have enough to do at the moment....
With the right people and a sensible approach it could be done for £50k.

As it happens, I can help you...I'm going to sell my Huntsman 31, its not working out with the baby and using it so we're going to have a few years out of boating.
Its had a massive rebuild with modern engines, yours for £40k.

So out of idle curiosity I followed your ebay link Huntsman, unfortunately it led me to looking at other boats for sale and I saw this rather more involved restoration for the lottery winners amongst us.

It also gave me an evenings reading of old websites as there's plenty of history of this particular boat, it would be a shame for it to be lost but my non-expert eye would seem to think it's a bit far gone although I'm sure it will be saved.

As it happens, torpepo boats, search and rescue and harbour launches are well represented in the uk by an active preservation scene.

This Swordsman sits on her mooring in Falmouth looking a bit sorry. Don't think she is for sale though.
I would imagine that a lot of money has been spent on her at some point as she looks altogether, just with tons of bird muck on top and mossy decks.

She was sold new to Debra Kerr, the actress.

That's interesting, you can tell by looking at her that there was once a lot of money spent. She's only moored a few boats away from mine so will keep my eyes out. She was sold new to Debra Kerr, the actress.
They carry so much presence on the water, would be a dream to own one. Being Falmouth I'm sure there are plenty of people who are aware and waiting to see if they can buy her, nothing slips through the net down here
