Cheap NPPL recommedations

I've tried to get back into gliding this year, but forgot just how time consuming it is waiting for the right day, wind, thermals etc. As such I think the best option is for me to head down the Cessna type route so I can fly semi-regularly.

I've said 'cheap' as my flying background is gliding from 15, solo at 16 and now have circa 85 hours in gliders. I then did superlights in an Ikarus C42 and got the license for that, have around 50 hours with about 20 hours PIC. I know that cheap often means low time, easy flying (Florida etc) but I think I'm ok with flying in difficult and unusual circumstances, I just want the license. Also, my microlight license has lapsed so upgrading that isn't an option, I just want to get through the course and have som fun flying in 2017.

Does anyone know or can recommend a good option? I based in the south west, but I'm open to other options.

Have you considered a LAPL? I was initially going to do an NPPL, but switched to the LAPL a it's easier to upgrade, has similar medical requirements, and is pan European.

No. I'm so behind with all the new names - back in my day there was the PPL and that was it.

If you already have the NPPL(M) then it is easy to upgrade to SSEA (several instructors offer the course costs around £1000) then paperwork exercise to LAPL.
