A real shame, but can't say I'm surprised.
We're based a few doors down from them, and in the 2+ years we've been there, I've literally seen just one single boat come out. Admittedly, I've been away a lot, but you'd expect a boat or two a month to make an appearance for it to be a success.
I spotted the empty car park a couple of weeks ago so assumed something was up.
Friday morning just gone there were four nice cars parked outside, front doors open and the alarm going off, so I'd guess that's the directors and administrators taking a look around. Didn't hang around long.
There's some moulds that have been moved outside out the back, so doesn't look like they're saving it, sadly.

The quickest way to f
k GRP moulds; why do liquidators do this? It seems to be written in the 'Ladybird book of winding up' despite the moulds potentially being the most valuable things onsite.Huntsman said:

Time to call in reinforcements then. Where's Motorvator when you need him eh?!
Indeed, where is he?
Ben, I'm surprised you haven't met Peter over at Cowes some time.
He's actually got two Huntons. The one you have seen with the wing on the front and also another new one that he is still rigging called Carbon Cheetah. The first is Volvo powered and Carbon is to have Ilmors.
He's an extremely clever guy that comes from a hydraulics background oop norf but by his own admission has an OCD problem related to weight. So you will find he is continually developing the boats with a view to reducing weight to achieve that last MPH.
Cinzano has been totally stripped and he is working his way through removing all the mods and repairs done over the years to get it back to fighting weight.
As if that isn't enough he has yet another hull over in the states that also has a wing on the front and from what I can gather he uses it solely to confuse to our american friends on his holidays.

All go go go today. They've been moving moulds all day from the old unit to another one a bit further up the estate.
Towing the dollies with a forklift, the noisy buggers.
Not sure if it's because they can't/won't pay the rent on their larger unit so need to get out before it's due (couple of weeks), or if it's part of a plan to save it.
Moulds being moved might be a good sign though, if there was no interest they might have abandoned them by now?

Cinzano 558, Is It owned by Marcus Hendricks?
Not any more. Peter Unwin owns it now as above.Markus has a new 55' with twin 1350's that he has been working with the last couple of years.
I had an Athena poster of "Cizano558" I missed it at records week, Coniston a few years ago.gizard said:
Shame about Hunton - slightly concerned there will be not factory support going forward.
Cheetah is mental last I heard the Volovo's where producing approaching 500hp each and she was approaching 80mph! we manage a tad under 60 with 1050 - but we are a 43...
What 43? I keep toying with the idea of re-powering a Thunderhawk with 525s. Dream boat as a kid...Cheetah is mental last I heard the Volovo's where producing approaching 500hp each and she was approaching 80mph! we manage a tad under 60 with 1050 - but we are a 43...
The factory is up for rent as of a couple of weeks ago. Moulds moved out so I guess they're trying to get a buyer to some extent, but it doesn't look like the factory itself will be saved.
Looking at the numbers, it sadly doesn't stack up so it's little surprise they're likely to disappear.
