I heard a story that one company (NASA?) used to box up what they were sending across the country, and find it had bullet holes in it when they got there, so in the end they put a target on a part of the box that had empty space behind it and found that the number of Impacts on the important stuff reduced massively. Don't Boeing find the occasional bullet hole as the trains are used for a bit of target practice en route?
