Yes Eric, we all know that and the same with Airbus, but the tag 'made in America' from Trump yesterday doesn't quite ring true as an 'all American' was the point.

Perhaps Boeing have taken the 'roll eyes quietly and get on with it' rather than getting in to a twitter off about 'alternative' facts? He already started on them ref the next Air Force 1 costs which i have no doubt they'll ultimately win, but they publically appeared to back down and be willing to 'review' rather than get into a slagging match.

I didn't realise it was a post related to Trump as his name was mentioned in the original post.

Looks like the - 10 carries 40 odd more passengers than the - 9 but has shorter range.

The - 9 seems like it's becoming the most popular 787.

I wonder how the -10 will be configured by BA? -8 has 214 seats with no first, -9 has 216 seats with first and larger club and plus cabins.

I suspect the construction of the 787 was decided long before Trump was on the scene. Were the foreign parts because of cost, or because the US didn't have the tech?

I remember from the TV documentary series about the 777 that Boeing used foreign subcontractors widely for that project.

There was some discussion about the public resistance to using Japanese companies for a lot of of the aircraft - it was thought that Boeing were showing the Japanese the tech to build their own large aircraft and also that they were exporting US jobs. Boeing partly felt that having parts made in Japan would help them sell the 777 to Japanese airlines.
