I did a thread from Davis Monthan a while ago but here are more recent pics.........only play in the world where US military aircraft go to die. 4000 aircraft on the ground.

It's not.

The B-36 is on display at Pima County Museum. It's not part of the mothballed fleet at Davis Monthan.

Most if not all the retired B-36s would have been broken up by the end of the 1960s.

The B-36 at Pima only arrived there in 2006. It had previously been on display at Fort Worth, Texas, near where it was built.

It is actually owned by the US Air Force Museum and is on loan to Pima.

It is the only one I have seen. They have a B17,B24,25,26,36,47,52 all in one place at the Museum which i quite a rarity. I think ( not sure) that the B36 at Wright-Patterson is in flying condition...

Loved the B-58 since I realised that most of the fictional aircraft in the original thunderbirds series were made with bits of B-58 model kits

Yes it's fave of mine too. If only a mainstream model manufacturer were to do a decent, modern and accurate 1/72 kit.

Would never work financially due to lack of scope for reboxings with different variants or decal schemes, sadly, and due to not really participating in any proper wars the interesting airframes are limited to a couple of record setters.
