Classic Air Force 's airworthy Meteor T7 - Sold to the US

The world's second oldest flying jet (and oldest flying RAF one) which was up for sale, has now been sold to an operator in the US.

A sad loss to the aviation scene in the UK, considering it's historical significance. Classic Air Force's Vampire was sold last year to an operator in Jordan.

That is sad - I remember WA591 was the gate guard at RAF Woodvale when I was growing up in Formby. I was gobsmacked the first time I saw it flying a few years ago; I hadn't even realised it was being restored to flying condition!

Saw it at Odiham just before the restoration was completed.

Rumour is both of the Venoms and the other Meteor (NF11) have also been sold to operators in the US.
